A longtime Super Bowl drought ended this past weekend, as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LII. The two teams faced off in Minneapolis, and the incumbent champion Patriots, who have five prior Super Bowl wins, lost to the Eagles—who are celebrating their first-ever Super Bowl win in only three appearances—by a score of 41 to 33.
The Super Bowl may be over, but there’s still plenty to look forward to in Philadelphia coming up this spring for the lab design community! Celebrating its 17th year, the 2018 Laboratory Design Conference will be heading to the City of Brotherly Love from April 23-25, 2018. This networking educational event offers attendees insights that will elevate their understanding of the most cutting-edge, successful lab designs available today through informative sessions by some of the industry’s top leaders. Lab professionals from all aspects of the field—architects, engineers, lab planners and lab directors—will gain valuable knowledge and get a personal look at the newest best practices.
Keynotes, general sessions and informative breakouts will be featured on the enlivening two-day program. We are excited to add new features to the 2018 conference—innovative topics such as Graphic Design and Attracting and Retaining Top Talent will be offered, as well as a special new forum on Mentoring the Next Generation of Young Lab Design Professionals. Mingle with colleagues at multiple networking coffee breaks as well as breakfasts, lunches and cocktail receptions, and make new professional connections with others in the lab design/build community by touring the Exhibitor Hall.
Our own 2018 champions will be the highlight of the Conference, when the winning lab facilities from the annual Laboratory of the Year competition will finally be revealed! The project teams will take the floor to showcase their award-winning designs. Be sure not to miss this exciting tradition!
The third day of the Laboratory Design Conference will feature exciting tours of Philadelphia-area laboratory facilities. Round-trip transportation from the hotel to the tour venue, as well as a welcome breakfast, will be provided. The Lab Design Conference team is excited to offer you the unique opportunity to view these lab spaces, including some that the general public never gets to see. Details on these tours will be available on www.labdesignconference.com.
