Jeffrey Zapfe, PhD, President, Acentech, joined Acentech in 1998 and led the firm’s Noise and Vibration group for many years before becoming president. His consulting expertise is in the areas of vibration, structural dynamics, vibration sensitive facilities and equipment, and vibration isolation. His work includes the analysis of structures at the design stage as well as the measurement, analysis and mitigation of vibration in completed buildings.
Jeff’s most recent work has included projects concerned with measurement and attenuation of building vibrations, construction vibration mitigation, prediction and control of footfall-induced vibrations of floors housing sensitive equipment, and evaluation and mitigation of ground-borne noise and vibration due to transportation systems. Jeff is the author of many papers pertaining to vibration issues and received a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
