Daniel Wentzlaff, Dipl. Ing. AADipl, Architect BSA SIA SWB, studied architecture in Munich, Paris and at the Architectural Association in London from where he graduated in 1990. He has been co-owner of Nissen Wentzlaff Architects since 1992, designing and realizing national and international projects, many of them stemming from successful competition entries. The designs have won numerous architectural prizes and have been exhibited and published nationally and internationally. Daniel has lectured in schools and universities in Switzerland and Germany, and from 2002 to 2009 was Professor for Building Design and Architecture at Biberach University of Applied Sciences. He is a regular member of assessment committees and competition jury panels.
Over the past ten years, Daniel developed visions for the “lab of the future”—in think tanks, assessment panels and lectures as well as in his role as architect and designer. Lab buildings by Nissen Wentzlaff Architects have found international recognition. Most recently, the firm won the “Best Architects 17” award for the Balgrist Campus, which has been declared a “research institution of national importance” by the Swiss government.
