Jacob Werner, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is Director of Sustainable Design/Associate at Wilson Architects. Jacob specializes in the planning, design, and construction of laboratory buildings. He successfully guides teams through collaborative listening and attention to detail. Jacob is fascinated by the rapidly evolving world of scientific teaching and research. He tracks new trends, including active learning classrooms, innovation centers, maker spaces and multi/trans-disciplinary research of all kinds. Jacob focuses on how high-performance, high flexibility buildings can transform and reenergize traditional scientific disciplines. As WA's Director of Sustainable Design, Jacob has a thorough understanding of the LEED rating systems, energy modeling, life cycle cost analysis and utility incentives. Jacob oversees WA’s AIA 2030 energy reporting and LEED certification processes.
